WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once Cases gg is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using a The button will display the item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items are available at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
